The UGC-NET (University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test) and SET (State Eligibility Test) are both eligibility exams in India for the post of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges. On one hand, National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of UGC conducts the NET Examination twice a year (June and December) and on the other hand, the SET Examination is conducted by the respective state agencies usually once a year (no fixed time).
